The sun is now higher in the sky and all of a sudden there are more hours of sun in a day. As soon as the sun is higher than the Ellstab mountain it shines four to five hours longer per day. In recent years we have been able to start sunbathing on our balcony or terrace in February. After these long, sunny periods the winter returns with its storms. It is quite possible for one metre of snow to fall overnight.
